About Us
We are an independently owned and operated, single doctor emergency service. Dr. Mason is so grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Linda Allen of Pacific Northwest Veterinary Hospital, and utilize her hospital space to provide emergency after-hours services to our community.
Dr. Mason has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years - from volunteering in shelters, working as a veterinary staff member, and eventually becoming a doctor. She has a passion for furry companions and recognizes the important role they play in our lives. She believes in building relationships and trust with her patients in order to provide them with the best care. Even if we only meet your pet for a short time, we make sure that they feel as comfortable, safe, and loved as possible during their visit.
Our mission is to provide accessible emergency veterinary care to the pets of the Peninsula. We recognize the financial and logistical challenges pet owners have faced when seeking care for their pets in our area, and we hope to bridge the gap. In addition to providing a much needed service to the public, we strive to be a resource for your trusted primary veterinarian, who can refer emergency cases to our facility after hours. For those who cannot travel to or financially access the larger emergency & specialty hospitals in our area, we hope to provide an option closer to home.
Dr. Amanda Mason
Dr. Mason is an East Coast transplant who has lived in Western Washington since graduating veterinary school at Texas A&M University in 2020. She has lived in Kitsap County since her arrival in the state, falling in love with the Olympic Peninsula and all it has to offer. Working in emergency hospitals in the Puget Sound area, as well as volunteering her time at a rescue organization on the Olympic Peninsula, allowed her to see firsthand how great the need for emergency care is in this area. With the assistance and encouragement of many others, including the Pet Emergency Group, she set out to open an emergency service to help the pets and people in this community.
Dr. Mason has worked in small emergency hospitals, larger emergency/specialty hospitals, urgent cares, and general practices throughout Western Washington - providing her with a wealth of experience in veterinary care of all levels. Her veterinary interests include emergency surgery, trauma care, and feline medicine. Although her passion is in emergency care, she also enjoys volunteering her time with spay/neuter projects and supporting local animal rescues.
In her spare time, Dr. Mason loves to be outdoors - hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and camping. She also loves to cook, dance, and enjoy a good cider with her husband, Nick. At home she has a mischievous orange boy kitty (Alfie), a snuggly old Heeler mix (Lily), and a bossy Husky/Australian Shepherd mix (Lucy).
